Young rich-lister goes all in on medical marijuana
One of Australia’s most successful young entrepreneurs, Nick Bell, has tipped medical cannabis to become one of the fastest-growing industries.
The founder of global digital agency WME Group is betting on medical cannabis in his latest investment venture.
The serial investor told Your Money Live that he has backed Cannvalate, one company cashing in on the rapidly-growing market, after a trip through the US.
“Most of the businesses over there were run by hippies. The investment bankers have come in with money [and] resources and completely transformed the industry,” Bell said. “These are proper businesses that are going to change the world.”
Bell has come a long way since starting WME Group with just $400 out of his bedroom back amid the global financial crisis.
The entrepreneur and investor is now worth an estimated $120 million and his start-up does business in eight countries.
He spoke with Your Money Live about his first two failed companies and his advice to young Australian entrepreneurs.
